Game 1: Chicago Bears vs Houston Texans
Sunday, September 11 marks the first NFL game of regular season for the Chicago Bears–our favorite team in the league. As the official home of the Bay Area Chicago Bears Fan Club (since 1998) we always look forward to football season! Every week we host Chicago Bears games and fans from all over the Bay Area join us for the fun, food and prizes. After all, what’s better than Chicago-style pizza, Texas BBQ, pitchers of beer, and football?
Against the odds
It’s just a matter of days before the showdown between the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans, and you don’t want to miss the action. With zero wins in three encounters, the Chicago Bears will be looking for the first win against the Houston Texans. It won’t be an easy task, but a feat worth fighting for. The Bears are dealing with a lot of injured players at the moment, but we’re hoping for quick recoveries; Hroniss Grasu is nursing an ankle injury, Kyle Long is sidelined with a shoulder injury, and Tony Moeaki and Kyle Fuller are both out with hamstring injuries. You can see the full injury list and prognoses here.
Things can only get better
The good news is these injuries aren’t killing the mood at the Bears camp. All the troubles they are having, both offensively and defensively, are giving John Fox, his staff, players, and of course, fans, a lot of sleepless nights. Of the last three encounters between the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans, two have been with a combined score of less than 30. Expect the next encounter to be of a smaller margin with end-to-end action and plenty of touchdowns.
Don’t let the odds being published by punters fool you — the Chicago Bears are giving it their all. It will be a thrilling game with plenty of food and drinks to keep your belly happy, regardless of the score. We hope you will join us for the action, meet other Bears fans, make new friends, and enjoy the Bay Area’s best Chicago-style eats while cheering on our team.
