Hello Bears Fans!

chicago bears watch party san mateo california pizza bbqIt will be great to see everyone again after these last crazy two years. We are just weeks away from the Bears season kicking off in 2022 at Windy City Pizza – Home of the Bay Area Chicago Bears Fan Club Since 1998. Back and ready to go as we open up against a good 49ers team. What’s in store for us this year? Time will tell…we have a new “Matt” at head coach, Matt Eberflus, and a new “Ryan” at GM, Ryan Poles. They’ve assembled a whole new coaching staff, so let’s hope these two do a better job for our Bears! I like the energy with the team so far and am excited with the addition of our rookie DBs, Brisker and Gordon. That’s an area that really needed an upgrade, plus I’m glad we got some O-line help for Justin Fields with the veteran additions of Patrick, Schofield and Reiff. Also, I’m excited to see Justin’s progress in year two with a coach that lets him play to his strengths – last season’s play calling was so hard to watch, wasn’t it? The wide receiver position is a concern right now with injuries already! Let’s hope they address the situation before the season. Glad we have Mooney – he’s going to be #1 receiver now that Robinson has gone and I’m sure that talented tight end, Cole Kmet, will get more action this year and be a bigger part of the Offense. Our running backs are solid, Montgomery and Hebert give me confidence in our run game. Ryan Poles, our new GM, needs to make Roquan happy and pay the man! Now he’s demanding a trade. He’s been one of our best players on this team…got to keep him here! Hopefully Quinn will pick up where he left off and have a great season again, making everyone around him better. Mack and Hicks are no longer with the Bears – when healthy they both brought it, definitely going to miss them. So, a lot of new faces on this team with one-year contracts to prove themselves. Let’s hope they all have a chip on their shoulder and play well for us!

Anyway, I’m just glad it’s football season and the club is back! Let’s get ready! Sunday, September 11th at 10:00am: The Bears vs the 49ers – get here early. We’ll have our raffle and great food and drink. See you all then!

Time to Bear Down! Let’s Go Bears!
Thanks Ronnie D.

From Trish:

To say that the Windy City team is excited to see our Chicago Bears fans on Sunday, 9/11 is more than an understatement! Who can believe the events of the past two years? 2020 was the first time in 22 years that our club was unable to host the fans and it was tough on everyone. But that’s all behind us now and we are excited to be digging out Bears banners, bunting, engraved beer glasses, raffle tickets and prizes from our storage shed. The TV guy comes tomorrow to fine tune all the TVs and Ronnie is shopping online for BEARS prizes – lots going on here in the house and we are all smiles!

We’ll just pick up where we left off – come and claim your same old familiar seat, barstool or booth! For the opener, 9/11, Windy City looks forward to greeting our fans with coffee and pastries, with doors opening at 9am…or when our first fans arrive in the parking lot! I would love to see some BEARS flags on your cars, please. We know of a few fans who’ve moved out of state and, possibly, others will have found another venue to enjoy cheering on our Bears. I’m relying on all of you mainstays to have kept the faith and plan to return to Windy City for another season of wins, losses, laughs, Chicago style food and good old mid-Western camaraderie.
