4 Bold Predictions For The Chicago Bears 2017 Football Season

Bay Area Chicago Bears Fan Club on Hopes for the 2017 Season
Chicago Bears Fans, take heart. There’s still hope yet for the 2017 Chicago Bears to make a stunning comeback after a lackluster 2016. Let’s take a look at these 4 fearless predictions which will make the Bears an exciting team to watch and cheer for at Windy City Pizza and BBQ this season.
1. Leonard Floyd Gets A Dozen Sacks
Floyd was a first-round pick in the class of 2016, but he has yet to show his complete game. In 2017, Leonard Floyd will prove to everyone that he’s worthy of the Defensive Rookie of the Year title by making more sacks and timely defensive stops.
It all starts with guidance and training under the watchful eye of Pernell McPhee and Bears’ defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio. Floyd will then be known as a feared pass rusher and one of the best 3-4 outside linebackers the NFL has ever seen!
2. Two 1000-Yard Receivers Will Emerge
The Bears produce one of the best receiving corps in the league. It all starts with the veteran experience of Victor Cruz, who was just recently added to the team. His mission? Train Cameron Meredith and Kevin White to be the best they can be. It’s not an outrageous claim that both will be able to churn out 1000 yards apiece in the 2017 NFL season–Meredith and White have what it takes to do that. They are lengthy and fast enough to bypass any defensive lineup.
Third time’s the charm for 2015 first-round draft pick Kevin White. Meredith has already posted 888 yards on the 2016 season and will be out for blood in 2017. This prediction becomes more likely if White is healthy enough to play all 16 games.
3. Jordan Howard Will Be An Elite Rusher
Howard will surpass his total rushing yards last season with the help of a few key pieces, namely Cody Whitehair, Josh Sitton and Kyle Long. If there was anything Howard proved in the 2016 season, it was his innate ability to read the tackle rushing game, posting a record-high 966 yards. It’s safe to say that Howard will be a strong contender for the rushing title this season.
4. The Bears Finish Above .500
The bottom line here is that John Fox has to turn the Bears on its head and bring about great change from the Trestman era. The 2016 Bears had stellar defense when Lovie Smith and Brian Urlacher were released, and it’s up to Fangio and key players, Lamarr Houston and Kyle Fuller, to prove that they still have what it takes to be an elite team.
A strong defensive presence coupled with potent offense from Glennon should be enough to put the Bears over the .500 record.
